The Message is Simple: It’s a Buyer’s Market

 

Now is the time to buy. It may seem like this statement is being communicated over and over to the point of exhaustion. There’s a reason why. Opportunity. Now IS the time to buy. We are in a cyclical market trend which means what goes up must come down. And so it is with the housing market. Some reports say the market has hit the bottom; others say we are on the upswing; still others say these market reports are overblown. Predicting the future is a tricky thing. But there are several trends currently taking place no one can deny. It’s definitely a buyer’s market out there.

Activity in the marketplace.

The fact is people are buying and properties are selling. In the first 6 months of 2007, there were 11,340 recorded sales in Lee County. In the month of June alone there were 460 recorded homes closed in that County. With the European season rapidly approaching, expect more activity. Buyers are in a great position to choose from the largest inventory of available properties on the market in decades.

Incentives motivate.

With the extensive inventory available, most sellers are willing to negotiate, even on already dramatically reduced prices. Sellers that need to sell are listening to their realtor and pricing their properties appropriately. As a result, buyers are getting some great deals. Houses are more affordable than they’ve been in years. And homebuilders are responding with incentives for buyers and realtors, keeping everyone excited and motivated about the marketplace.

It’s definitely a buyer’s market out there.
